The neutrino floor: a data-driven analysis

We reconsider the discovery limit of multi-ton direct detection dark matter experiments in light recent measurements coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering process. Assuming cross section to be a parameter entirely determined by data, rather than using its Standard Model prediction, we use COHERENT CsI and LAr data sets determine WIMP limits. Being based on data-driven approach, results are thus free from theoretical assumptions fall within mass regions where XENONnT DARWIN have best expected sensitivities. further impact subleading nuclear form factor weak mixing angle uncertainties effects point out that these effects, albeit small, should taken into account. Moreover, quantify new physics neutrino background, revisit limits assuming vector scalar mediators as well magnetic moments/transitions. stress presence interactions sector, general, tend worsen limit.
